Light weight, if you are going to wear it much, compact is good at times, as well. The pipe welder's standard; Huntsman 411P. They also make a plastic 911P, slightly heavier, but more durable. You can get a Huntsman 1100BVL Auto darkening lens that fits either of those hoods, if you need one. I would use the 411P with a standard #10 filter plate most of the time, use the auto darkening filter when I had my head inside something where I couldn't raise the hood... They are 2" by 4 1/4", that is all you need. There isn't a significant advantage to a larger lens, although some people have a strong preference for them. If you set the tension right on the hinge, the Huntsman will flip down when you nod your head, even if your head is at a pretty good angle, that is the advantage of the Huntsman. Also, there is a Solex autodarkening filter that should fit a 411P.
