Wheatley, Arkansas
We have a 1996 model with @4500 hrs. 20.8X42R1W rubber with a 24 speed tranny. As some have said it is almost bulletproof. Clean simple design for a Deere. One of the most fuel stingy Deere tractors ever built. Our 70 series 4 wheelers burn less fuel than our newer 9000 and 8000 series. They will blow a little black smoke but use less fuel doing the same job as a 9320 or 8520.
The 70 series are very similar to the 9000 series frame and articulation wise. Ride is as good as a 9000 series IMO.

The only weak area would be that the cab is a little cramped, but 10 GPH VS 15 GPH to do the same job on $3 fuel makes the cab very tolerable.

All tractors are higher this year, saw a 8770 PS 20.8 X 38 w/3pt and @3800 hrs sell today for @$61000. Last year would have been 35-38000.

Les

PS; we pull 38' disks and 38' DMIs with our tractors.
