Subject: RE: Gov't Grain Bins

Bourbon, Indiana
Well in my situation I would never buy another govt' bin again but that's just me. For one. their very very old. unless you can buy one dirt cheap I'd really consider just buying a new one. When I put my 5000 butler bin up 5 or so years ago or wet storage, I'd say I was pretty close to the cost of a new bin. buy the time you figure in the bolts, cement, false floor (if your planning on putting one in) auger and etc. your not to far away from a new bin.
If you do go the govt. bin route I would not recommend adding rings unless the bin was equipt for it. (know your guages on the sheets). When I bought mine I thought I'd be smart and put 2 extra rings on, well if worked for awhile untill I noticed one day the the bottom few rings were crimpled. I use to have pics but can't seem to find them.

JMHO.

good luck

Brad
