Southwest Illinois | It all depends what you want. If you have a perfectly clean seedbed in the spring a field cult will probably work well especially in loam type soils. If you want to make a seedbed out of standing stalks or you are in an area with higher clay content soils a finisher(especially one with a chopper) will do a real fine job where a cult will probably take an extra trip. As someone said a finisher works better the dryer the ground gets while a cult works better if the soils are moist to wet. Need to ask yourself why you need to work it wet. | |
