If you are running Champion plugs, try Autolites. D16 crosses to a 386; D21 to a 3116; D23 to a 388. Also, if it has an IH distributer, you can file out the advance slot in the breaker plate to allow a little more advance. Check the weights and springs to be sure the advance is working to begin with.
