The 1770 is quite a bit stronger built, heavier markers etc. It also has tire to tire seed and fertilizer drives which I really like. We had our 7200 for about 6 years and now the 1770 for about 11 and the only trouble we ever had with either one was self-inflicted. Both are good planters.
