Subject: Re: Bourgault 5710 Air Drill

Manitoba
We had been looking at a used 5710. I had some concerns about the 7" spacings and trash clearance Talked to a knowledgeable Bourgault salesman yesterday that indicated we might also have problems in our heavy clay and wet spots with the air drill type packer system. We typically are more wet than dry in the spring and he recommended the 8810. They are available with both harrows and packers, so could be adapted to the moisture conditions. I think he is right as we have been happy with the all round performance with our Bourgault 428 system(its similar to the 8810), its just a little small.. I agree with you that the Bourgault tank metering system works very well. RGB
