I am not very familar with your conditions but it would seem to me that the narrower the rows the sooner you would have canopy and conserve moisturewhich I am pretty sure can be big issue for Kansas. I think you won't see a yield difference unless condition get really tough. That is what we see in narrow row soybeans. wide and narrow yield almost identical until hail or drought show up then narrow can have a big advantage.
