E. Wash. winter wheat will be average to slightly below. Talked with guys from center of state to Spokane and nobody is bragging about yields. The Winter cold snap hurt the wheat more than expected, and the cold wet spring didn't help much. Seems the cold/wet triggered cheatgrass growth for everybody last winter. The herbicides (Maverick, Olympus) did the same damage to wheat and cheat. Should finish wheat tomorrow. Neighbors are waiting on spring wheat to be ready to cut. Mostly soft white around here. When the spring wheat was in milk/soft dough stage when had 3 weeks of 100F. It will be interesting to see what happens with those yields in the next couple of weeks. Average "normal" crop is 60 bu WW here.
