Subject: RE: How are crops in your part of the world?

Last night brought 2" of lightning and NO water. Nebraska is all but burnt over, lots of silage coming out decreasing acres real fast. You can drive past a field that looked good a couple weeks ago and now is pure brown creeping from the bottom and is now above the ear or what was going to be the ear. Most corn silked, set an ear on, then shriveled up. Doubt the ear got to blister stage. Some heavy bottom sub irrigated crops are holding in the dryland category but rapidly dwindling. Last nite the news said our heat index was 95 at 10PM. No better today. not enough rain to make a good spit. Irrigated is looking pale. Huge fuel bills and still no great crop with dropping prices. Some of these local BTO's will wake up one morning and say, dammmmmm,we are broke. happens quicker than you can imagine. heard one guy was only 300,000$ over budget and he hadnt watered yet.(not included yet anyway). $10,000 PER well PER month adds up darn quick when you have as many wells as these guys do!!! And no where to get that money back FROM!!!
