Subject: Soybeans

I was out in one of my soybean fields today and pulled up 5 plants all in one 15" row one right after another. Pood count was 48, 64, 58,42, 52. they were 14" from the first plant to the last plant pulled. Plant population was planted at 155400 finial stand stand looks like 136000 give or take a few plants one way or another. Last year on a different field I did the same 5 plant count an they were 38, 42, 57, 46, 53, those beans went a little over 61 bushel across the scales. If we keep getting timely rains looks like this bean crop is going to be better than last year. Never thought that was possible as dry as it has been. Has anyone else done any pood counting? Bill
