Subject: RE: Soybeans

Not sure what group our soybeans are considered because they are sold just like corn by Corn Heat Units and that would be 2700 to 2900 CHU in our area. The yields in our area the last two years were between 35 and 55 bushels due to a high infestation of soybean aphids, spider mites, late springs and very dry summers. The best yields in the past ten years have been in the 60 to 70 bushel range but I would say 50 to 55 is normal on a good year. Problem here most spring it takes a long time for notill ground to warm up to 60 degrees and most farmers don't wait.
