Lincoln, NE
Ron,
Your assumptions are right about not pushing your luck on remaining battery%. Just like your fuel-reserve in an aircraft. When you hit the critical battery setting it will automatically start to land unless you over-ride it - And then - you better be close to home.

Elevation is a barometric pressure function. Here's what's important to know. Your altitude is based off your Home Point. Not actual altitude above the ground where the aircraft is at any point in time. This is really important to understand when flying on uneven terrain. It will give you false readings to it's actual altitude to the ground you are flying over at the time. Remember - altitude is always a relationship to HP. Think about the risky scenarios of flying up and down a mountain slop - for example.

Not speaking for anybody else here - but 15 minutes is plenty of flight time for me because I mentally do a flight plan of the shots I want prior to TO. I fly with 7 batteries - when they are spent - I need a break. Would more flight time per battery be nice? Sure it would - but proper flight planning makes it less important.

Maybe you all already know this - if so - please pardon me.

(all above is relative to my experience with Inspire-1)
