Subject: Seed Corn Harvest

I was in Farmer City, Illinois yesterday and there were trucks delivering seed corn that had been picked near West Union, Illinois. I have not had any experience with seed corn, but it looked very green yet. I asked the guys at the seed plant and they said it was still around 41% moisture. As I said I don't know anything about seed production, but I have to question the quality of what is going to end up in the bag as well as the transportation and drying costs. Any comments would be appreciated.
