Subject: RE: Demo'd a rotary rake this week

Little River, TX

Study the Operators manual.  They do work different than the more usual roll bar or wheel rake. When set up just about anyone can run the machine. Though I still advocate putting the best operator on the rake, regardless of type.

My first rotary rake was a single system. It could be adjusted in height, for pitch using the top link as well as RPM's. I now use a double machine designed to rake to the center or as a tedder.

My original one had a curtain to rake against. I found if the RPM was right I did not need the  curtain.  The manufacturer claimed up to 10 feet working width, but that included the curtain. In fact the teeth operated on 7 feet of hay. The company sent me a questionier and I told them they lied. Tongue out Got back some kind of dumb answer.
