Subject: flex head in no till beans in stalks

Driftless SW Wisconsin
three inch knife/guards is about a must with standing stalks in the beans. the additional mog actually helps feeding and separator performance.Setting the reel carefully can help reduce the stalk pushing the bean plant. you don't want the knife pushing the corn stalk. 30" strip tilled beans between 30" cornstalks will be farther from the old 30" stalks than the 15" beans you were in, Paul. Try the reel out and down a bit and maybe slightly faster to bring the stalk in with the beans. something to try. good luck. jim at dawn
