Had the 575 break a shaft last monday, closest part was 6.5 hours round trip, wasn't happy (was reminded of the deere days). Case salesman showed up wednesday morning for pre-day coffee, after a chat, an 8010 demo was offered, then Cat showed up next day with 585 and 40' flex. (still waitin on the 8010).........

Only negative issue on the 585 - 40 ' head was I couldn't get as good a sample as our 575.......Maybe thinking the wrong sieves were in, they were different than our 575's.

Guy on radio last tuesday said he cut 240 acres with one 585 - 40' combo in a day......... Didn't beleive him (beans can be tuff here) untill after the demo.........No problem! We had the rig for 6-7 hours and with our other combines cut between 380-400 acres on Friday.

Very impressed with everything about the 40 foot max flex........From feeding, cutting and flexing, ts by far the best bean head Ive ever run. The beast pushing it was running 50-70% engine load at 4.5-5 mph. If we could get the sample clean, which maybe they can, I wouldn't have any complaints, I was still impressed.

Pop's wasn't as grumpy after the experience.
