Subject: Had an Agco DT 240A on demo

South-central Nebraska
Local dealer offered to bring this tractor out a while back so we took him up on his offer. After a couple days I really became quite fond of this tractor. My first thought was that it has too many computers, touchpads and electronics, but after time and learning what they are for it became more user friendly. The learning curve may be a bit higher than most for this tractor, but that is not all bad.

The best aspects of this tractor are:
Very smooth CVT transmission
Quiet, smooth running SISU diesel
Quiet cab with a very comfortable air ride seat and air ride cab
Simple yet heavy built front hydraulic supension axle
This tractor is well built with plenty of built in iron front to back
Nice layout in cab and easy to reach controls
Firm steering wheel and steering column (Unlike that I'm used to in my Deere)

Downfalls in my opinion:
Maybe too many touchpads and electronics that may cause problems or malfunction
I didn't like the joystick hydraulic control - Would rather have the individual finger tip contols which I think are available.
I wish the seat were able to constantly swivel side to side like the Deere I'm used to
The radio and two speakers are awful compared to the rest of the competition
To really be picky, it needs a silver/chrome hood arrow instead of the molded in orange one. I could always paint it silver!

I ran it on a grain cart where we run by the combine then drive back and forth to the binsite. I will definely miss it when they pick it up tomorrow.
