North East Kansas | I have gotton a lot of information off of this site about what everyone thinks about the Macdon Flex draper for soybean harvest, but what I am concerned about is how much more they cost to maintain than an auger header. Usually on an auger header the only thing you have to replace is the belt and the knives. On our Challenger header we had to replace the crank inside the auger a couple of times also. We are also interested in switching to a 2388, but we were wondering if this would be a bad match for the draper head because the draper looks like it might feed more rocks. The 2388 can be equipped with a rock trap, but our dealer said that a rock trap can cause feeding problems into the rotor. I would be grateful for anyones opinions here.
Sincerely,
Steve
