Cullom, Illinois
Ditto to everything Rosco said. I've run a 974 two years now and have had no problems other than sickle sections and operator error. It's been very wet this year in central Illinois and I have yet to have the head "push". Rocks fall into the center and you pick them out on the end. I don't put the gauge wheels down in soybeans but have been told you can do so in very wet conditions to help the head float. So far this hasn't been an issue. With the heads ability to flex, tilt, and float under spring tension, it really does an excellent job. Buy yourself one and don't look back.
