Carter Montana
This Sawfly thing is evidently cyclical. we spent the mid-ninties swathing everything before virtually everyone in the area switched to Rampart for a few years. We had entire fields of Neely flat, as in 2 inches or less. Picking it up was awful.

It's not supposed to, but I still believe the Rampart had something to do with where we are now. The good moisture has everyone rolling into hollow stems. The sawfly seem to have disappeared for now. We've settled on Falcon currently but there is quite a mix anymore. Competition is good......

The Mont. State developed Genou looks good if you have a big problem. We tried 300 acres and it yielded 15% less than the best Falcon. I don't know how winter hardy it is. Your personal preference will dictate whether that 15 per-cent is worth it. But we're keeping it in mind for when they come back. It's just a matter of time.
