Subject: Electric SCV multiplier....JD 4020

Central Kansas
I would sure appreciate your input on this deal. I have a JD 4020 with a single SCV. It is used primarily as a loader tractor for small squares (accumlator hay grab) but it becomes more of an issue now that I cannot use my 12 wheel rake (requires dual hydraulics) or put this tractor on either one of my pivot tongue swathers which both require dual hydraulics.

An option is to get the original valving and put it on the left side of the dash with the 3pt lever and SCV lever ($1,000 for the parts from Abilene machine, etc.). Some JD guys say this is NOT the way to go. Another option is to plumb into my 3 spool valve on the fender with a diverter valve and run another remote from the 3rd function valve (grapple fork). This would be lost if the loader were removed.

The 3rd option, and maybe the least expensive, is the electric powered multiplier which uses the original single lever and runs two SCVs shuttled by the switch. What I want to know, is swinging a pivot tongue swather after you raise it at the end of a pass, then dropping it back down to cut getting pretty complicated for this arrangement? Seems to me folding a disk or chisel would be fine, but shuttling from one function to another within seconds could get pretty dicey. Any experience with these things? Guide me in the right direction here.
