Is that a roto disc or the lawn mower blade thingy?

Neighbor has a 16 -22 roto disc on an 06 9860.........4 drive belts and two electric clutches is his total failures.   He's running the "big" new variable drive, but is debating on direct drive.......Tuff call.   His sample in the bin wasn't too impressive at 4.5 mph, not sure if the Gerringhoff had anything to do with that.........Lots of small shredded corn leafs in the bin.

Cat mechanic said direct drive should be used for the chopping heads.

I don't like any of these chopping heads but after this past year with our chopper issues, my feelings have leaned more towards them.

One thing for sure is in down corn, you better have a shredder on call.  If ya want a descent chopping job.
