Subject: RE: 7250/8950 too big?

Boone, Iowa
I dynoed the 7120 after we overhauled it and it is 175 pto h.p. It is a little misleading to say that tractor pulls the 32 ft disk. We use it to lightly run on headlands and to level ground in bean stubble where combine left tracks in the wet spots. In corn stalks, I did a side hill that is HEL ground I did not want to chisel. I was only running 5.5-6 mph with some cylinder stops on the disk. I am hoping a 200+ pto h.p. tractor will pull this disk OK. The Sunflower brochure claims a minimum of 6-10 h.p./ft of cut. If I need to do a lot of disking, I put the disk behind the 9170, which plays with it.
