Subject: RE: Front wheel seals

I guess I should have clarified that a little. On one side the big seal was leaking, so they took it apart and decided the inside bearing race wasn't quite snug enough against the big spindle it goes on. I didn't see much of any signs of it spinning on the spindle either. We ended up with new bearings, spindle (they don't call it a spindle but the sun king pins go into it and the sun shaft goes through it and the tie rod connects to it) and new tie rod end because the hole it goes in was "updated". The other side was a sun shaft leak, which according to the dealer was 4K. I didn't get to see that bill because it started leaking before we were able to take dilivery of the tractor, so we got a break on it. I should also mention that we dumped the original oil that was in the hubs for sythetic, they claim is that it won't aireate(sp) as much as the original oil and help keep seals from blowing out on hot days, long runs.
