Subject: RE: EV vs Hybrid

S.C. Wisconsin
Last winter we bought our first hybrid a Toyota RAV 4 . We didn't buy the plug in model as there was about a year wait on that model. I wanted a Toyota because they have 20 years of experience making hybrid vehicles. It has a ECVT transmission and unlike other CVT transmission it does not have a drive belt and the transmission is quite simple with no clutch pac's etc. The Rav4 fit our needs and am a Toyota fan as they generally are very reliable for long run as we generally keep our vehicles for 10 years plus. My take on it is I really love the Hybrid system as it is very smooth and has great acceleration. Millage varies on how it is driven. 80 mph on the freeway will get you about 33 mpg, drove it through the middle of Phoenix and got 47.5. I would buy it again with millage being secondary as I love the way it performs. That being said my hot rodding days have been gone for some time.
