southern MN | Not useful to you, but we had that problem along the ditch. We got some cats, the kitten that grew up to be the farm tomcat picked his hunting route to wander the ditch bank every day and he loved striped gophers. When he brought one home it would be his second of the day, first one was lunch.
2 years later we didn’t lose any more corn along the ditch. He eradicated them!
Was pretty amazing. He was certainly an above average farm cat.
