Subject: RE: Broadcasting verse Drilling wheat

Brazilton KS

Broadcast wheat put in early in the season has as good a chance of top yield as anything according to tests done here in southeast kansas.  As it gets later the drilled wheat gains some advantage.  It is even prefectly possible to broadcast it from the air and not work it in, provided it is done early enough....makes it pretty much mandatory to graze it down hard because of the disease pressure associated with such early seeding.

Conditions are not the same everywhere.  We are perhaps a unique situation where it works.
