Subject: Absolutely you can.

I know this picture is'nt very good, but I cant find the others right now. A friend in South Africa and I email farm.:-) He has sent me many pictures of their ways of farming and to be honest, I've learned a lot from them and will be using some of that new knowledge here.

This is a distant picture of a machine that they use to broadcast wheat, triticale, and various others. It has a top and bottom compartments for fertilizer and seed. It has a very simple but effective metering system for each. I have a close up of this machine, but danged if I can find it right now. Anyway, they've been doing it this way for years and with very good results. They use a shank tool and harrow to incorperate the seed. I'll get back to you or see if boetboer can visit and explain further.
