A few more thoughts. Put it against an outside wall. Easier for the fire department to keep it cool. Also pick a wall away from the kitchen, TV, computer, and other electrical devices where a fire is most likely to start. Finally, make sure your fire department knows where your safe is so they can concentrate on that spot.
