E.Central MN | They had the best ice cream sandwich because the packages stayed so cold on the trucks that the crust didn't get soggy like the ones in the grocery stores. The company instituted some stupid rules about the driver had to stop at a certain time of the day, if he was running late then he wasn't allowed to stop in -- at least that's what the guy told me when I tried flagging him down one day. They also started charging a minimum charge for stopping so the ice cream was too expensive and I didn't care for most of their other frozen products. I didn't think they were still going, but I think I saw their truck go by last week. When I lived in Wis in the 60's we had a different company that sold ice cream door to door - Maul's Ice Cream from Owen. Schwans came later. | |
