| You just found out why yearlings off of grass bring so much money. Also why green calves suitable for turning out on grass often bring nearly as much as cattle weighing hundreds of pounds more. Not so long ago those 1,000 pound calves weren't far off from slaughter weight, but not today, Used to be the only thing run on grass were tail end calves because you were risking discounts for over size carcasses by the time they would grade .Today there are some pretty big cattle turned out. | |
