Saw and then cauterize. I've cut some fairly big horns off that way. Do it before flies come out or you'll get maggots in the holes. I've tried leaving an inch or two on bigger animals, but I don't think it helps. Just cut flush with the skull, takes a month or two to heal up but as long as you burn it well enough that they're not gushing blood they'll be OK.
Anyone dehorn with bands?
