E.Central MN | You want as heavy a chute w/headgate as possible, you don't want a big beef even trying to jump around when you start sawing the horns off and cauterizing the veins, The tighter you can lock their head in place so it can't move, the faster you can get the job done with less stress. My brother tried a banding o-ring on a couple cows, it worked on one, but not the other one. It's much easier to deal with when the calves are small, even easier to use a polled bull to begin with. | |
