Subject: RE: High moisture corn for beef

Cullom, Illinois
Just realize that your now feeding two high moisture products. So to get the same amount of energy from a dry shell corn, the cattle have to eat more wet shell corn. It’s not normally a problem but if your also adding wet distillers or gluten for protein, now your cattle are forced to digest a lot of water. Yearlings during hot weather already will struggle with intakes. So trying to get them to consume 35+ #’s as fed in August can be tough. A good nutrionist will know this and can help you out.
