Thumb of Michigan | Not difficult just time consuming.
I started with a tote with top cut out and simply held 1.5" hose to agitate.
Switched to a 2,500 with an extra port in the bottom, pull from one and agitate with the other, swirling for couple hours takes care of it. I have a 3" strainer on intake side of pump that needs to be emptied quite often, cant just get it going and walk away.
Warm water helps speed process up.
