Eastern NE KS | A little bit off point but read on, please.
You should ask yourself what is your average budget for each lot in the sale. Over 25 years ago, learned a friend's production sale cost around $300/lot for a 100-120 lot sale.
Vet work
Advertising
Sale management
Catalog production and mailing
Medium wt corral panels rental
Post sale steak dinner
Etc. - everything connected to the sale.
He didn't break things down but his point was a production sale isn't inexpensive. He uses family help as much as possible to hold costs in check.
I was there to help and learn some about the process. My 4-5 days before the sale is a small part of it all. His sale was 20 years into a traditional production sale. You may slice and dice differently than he does but today he added DVauction to the stack. All to catch that next bid. It's truly a marketing enterprise.
