NE Iowa | Probably cataracts and is probably hereditary from the cow side. I had two last year. Mine both got a little better with age. They have partial vision now but vision seems worse on sunny days. One was a twin and the twin is normal. When on the cow I kept them both in a small pasture with barb wire fence because I didn't trust them in bigger pastures with electric subdivision fences. Both are in my feedlot doing great. The one is the largest calf in the pen. I sold both of the mothers as both of them had a blind calf 2 years in a row. But they each had several normal calves first. | |
