I remember 20 years ago here in the NE digesters were supposed to be a big thing in the coming years, eventually they would be affordable for even 500 or fewer cows. Never happened though. More and more regulations drove costs up, issues with power companies accepting excess electricity into the grid, equipment prices inflating, long term maintenance. I don't know if there's been any new digester built here in NY anytime recently.

Sign of the times people just do not trust outsiders or big business. With good reason usually.
