Subject: RE: Test Weight of oats

Brown county MN
Hate to admit, but we've had oats test at 28-29, but last time we focused on a variety that was supposed to have good test weight, and planted at 4 bushel per acre on the recommendation of one of the agronomists at Albert Lea seed house, to try and minimize tillering, and got a nice crop of 36lb oats. It was a good year too, but I'd like to think the rest played a part. Supposedly those were the heaviest oats we'd ever grown.
