Maybe I'm unusual, but I rarely look at the costs of seed until the delivery invoice.
All companies have some good products, all companies have some good discounts, all companies have some good people.
Some companies have excellent people that know their products inside and out and can place them for me on my toughest acre or my highest yielding acre.
These people are how I select who gets a slot on my seed list.
It's about the service and expertise of the representative.
I already have a degree in crop science, if they can't tell me more about their specific hybrids than I already understand agronomically they only last the first year.
Price doesn't matter all that much if you get the selection and field placement spot on. Sounds difficult to do through an online portal but if it was possible that's the info I'd be looking for.
