Try this... name each hybrid starting with the current planting year. For example your planting pioneer 1234. And you also planted it last year also. You could name it 2023pioneer1234. And 2024pioneer1234. This gives you a record by variety and year planted. I felt your pain on this issue and adopted this system years ago.
