SW OH | I had a heifer that calved 2 years ago in December about dark. She did lick it clean and dry. I got them both in a pen by themselves but she wouldn't let it nurse. She wanted nothing to do with it. By daylight calf was weak and cold. It went in kitchen right away where my wife took care of it. The calf died 2 days later.
That heifer has her third calf by her side and has done a perfect job with number 2 and 3. Same bull for all 3.
