I believe there is a setting that will turn logging or painting on or off when the auto steer is engaged or disengaged. I realize it's not going off the drill, but seemed like it was mainly an issue when turning around. This is how I have our compass set up in our tillage tractor. A possible solution without having to buy anything else.
