Milford, IL | If that LG TV unit happens to have been produced from early to mid 2000s (roughly 2000-2007) might be able to fix it with ten dollars worth of capacitors and a little soldering effort.
I would pull the covers on the rear of the unit that serve to access the main board and inspect for failed capacitors. If any capacitor shows the slightest bulge or fuzzy top, replace all of the caps on the board that are of the same make/capacitance value. Nichicon's of that era were the usual suspects in my experience.
*edited to add picture. In short, the Chicoms rented some Japanese engineers who got the capacitor formula almost right and sold a low cost product for the better part of a decade before the problem became apparent.
