Faunsdale, AL | I have a clue. It’s history. We tried to stay out of each of two border wars in Europe that each became world wars in the last century. All it took for that progression was a person or government that thought the people they were pushing around wouldn’t or couldn’t respond fast enough to prevent them achieving their conquest. This was in spite of the hard facts of economic and military power that were aligned against them. All it takes is somebody that thinks they can do it (Putin) and here we go again. Our isolationist bent kept us from responding to WW1 and 2 until we were forced into participating. Imagine if we had responded before things went to hell in Europe in 1914 and in 1939.
This is not the time to play politics and that’s most certainly what we are doing. | |
