I think the moon faces the earth with the same surface/area. This maybe due to magnetic attraction between earth and moon.
Correct that the same side of the moon always faces the earth.  It's not due to magnetic attraction, but gravitational forces.  Referred to as tidally locked.  Tidal locking - Wikipedia

I also recall the dark side of the moon is very cold inhospitable place. I come to think the dark side never faced the sun.
Both sides of the moon see the same amount of sunlight, so in that regard both are equally hospitable.  There isn't really a 'dark side' of the moon, more accurately called the 'far side'.
*Technically the side facing us is in our shadow once in a while (inverse version of a solar eclipse, when earth is casting a shadow on the moon).  So it gets just slightly less sun on average, but that's inconsequential.

These facts are correct, although I question the loud choice of bold, red text.
Some might feel insulted.
