Yes, that was what I was getting at. Disconnect at the hitch and see if you have four large pins on both the tractor and planter side. The four small pins in the center for for CAN. On the tractor side one pair of large pins that are opposite of each other will form a 12V and ground pair. They get that power and ground from the display harness.

The other pair may or may not have power/ground to them. If you want to use the other pair and we think you should, then you need to obtain a stub cable to put power and ground into a loose 2 pin stub on the tractor side. This stub cable goes directly to the battery also. By doing it this way the electrical load is still handled by the battery but has a better path back to the planter clutches etc.

Now if your cables only have one pair of large pins, they you would not be able to split up the electrical load through the hitch point.
