Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Yes, that is exactly what happened to my nephew. He bought the used truck and knew nothing about a 2290. It had current tabs and he used it.
He waited to get the new tabs until he needed to haul corn the next year. He went to the local office to pay for the tabs, slap them on and start hauling. They informed him that he needed a stamped 2290.
He needed the tabs right away. I forget if the local gals (very understanding gals) gave him the tabs anyway or if he just hauled without them. Anyway he had no problem but of course needed to get into the "2290 game".
This was why when I traded that truck in, I was concerned about getting a 2290 for the tabs right away for the next truck. It was then that I was informed that the State knows the Feds are slow and give us a break that "first time around". |
