Well, thanks to all of you, I'm really enjoying the responses. They really tells me that there's still some folks out there that have experienced frugal living and appreciate where good food comes from. We never had much, ate a lot of corn mush, scrapple, hash, (leftover roast beef from Sunday, reheated with carrots, onions and potato's), goulash, and Mom would even take left over baked chicken, (which was rare with 5 kids), roll it in flour and fry it up for something different. But what I wanted you to know, is that when we got the new Magic Chef stove with the glass in the door, and a light in the oven, my 2 brothers, and 2 sisters and I would pull up our little chairs and watch the meat cook off the pigs head! Really and to think how kids entertain themselves today.
